    I have a gurgle on my '03 1.8t.
It is coming from below the (RHD) drivers door, from a pipe which is constantly drawing in air. Is this pipe part of the evaporation emission system? Is it supposed to draw air in all the time?

    Thanks for any info,
    Martin

Ok, here's a few shots, there not to clear, would have to turn the car over for that! I have an arrow on the drivers door showing round about where the pipe ends.
The pipe is a little hard rubber guy that goes up under the plastic wing inner.
I think it re-appears in the under bonnet shot, at the bottom, connects to device at top. This is some sort of vacuum control device?

    All the best!

Has your motor got a sunroof? If it has the pipe you see will be a drain pipe which you will hear gugling when there is wet weather. Possibly could have become detatched at the sunroof end? You could trim off the end of the pipe so there is no bend in it and the pipe is facing downwards. One way to find out where it goes is to blow up it (pardon the expression) and get someone else to listen. I do appologise if i am barking up the wrong tree. TTFN

Nay it's not a sunrrof thing, defo connected to engine. I actually have a recording of the sound but don't know where to post it.... I have a vid posted now, I don't have much gurgling on it... didn't warm up the car properly.
The sound is quite unusual...you have to hear it to believe it.
Can email the .wav to those who are more interested, but here is the vid:
