Yes i know, how dumb i really am. Spent over 10 hours detailing my car getting her looking next to new then i go and do this:

I Changed the light bulb on one of the rear clusters and the plug that plugs into the car from the cluster snapped off resulting in a loose fit. So i dug the old super glue out and fixed it but i also managed to get a drop on the paint

So instead of carefully lifting it off i go and smudge it resulting in about an inches worth of a thinish line that i can't get off. Now it's not the end of the world and if i have to live with it then so be it but after making the car so perfect this is really annoying me.

Am i permenentley stuck with the mark or is there possibly a product that could remove it without ruining my paint?

I'm thinking that maybe there is a product harsh enough for the job that will almost certainly leave surface scratches but that i could then remove with a touch of meguires scratch x. A friend said to try boiling water on it but i'm not sure about that one!!

    Any ideas?

Just done some research on this and it seems i'm not the only idiot to have done this!!! I've found a guy who used loctite glue remover on paint and it worked so going to try that and also meleco magic eraser also can be used on paintwork so just bought one from ebay.

Will report back with results after i 've tested on the inside of the boot first

There are superglue removers on the market. I have used the one from Loctite. No problems.

Someone just got me the loctite glue remover. Now i'm sure i read on another forum that a guy used it on his car with no problems but it does say on the back of the packet 'do not use on varnished or painted surfaces'

Did you use yours on your car paintwork?

    Nice one mate, thanks.

Lastly, did you leave the glue remover on it for hours or did it start to work straight off?

I know it has been mentioned above that this works ok on paint...

However.. (after the amount of work you put in at the weekend ) one thing i would do first is find a bit of painted metal on your car to TEST it on first... somewhere like in the engine bay on the inner arch / bulk head area to make sure!
