    Hi,

I have an 04 plate 2.0 TDI which was in for a recall to check the dual mass flywheel a while back. At the time they advised me that my clutch was heavy and was likely to fail "sometime in the future" which tells me nothing.

I cant argue with the fact that my clutch is heavy, but it never threatens to slip, and the bit point isnt particularly high, and i've done nearly 20k miles since, just turned 60k.

When i enquired as to why the heaviness was a sign that the clutch was worn they said it was to do with the geometry of the clutch mechanism, but couldnt tell me more so i remain sceptical.

Can anyone here shed any light on this for me?

    Many thanks

    Dod

Anyone else had, or heard of this problem?

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

    Thanks
