Cd Error

[new to vw]

Hi there i keep getting the above error message on a 99 passat with a gamma hu.....it also has a Xcarlink mp3 player installed as the cd player..
any ideas

I had this happen on my 2002 passat - unfortunately it signalled the end of the in-dash cd changer, I ended up ripping out the whole lot in preference to getting a new dash mounted cd player - now have single disc with MP3 capability, holds more than the 6 disc changer did.

This happened on my audi a4...it is basically unfixable-unfortunately.

Your best option is to try getting a cd changer on ebay cheap and replace it with your old one - pretty simple..just yank out the old one and plug the leads into the new one.
