Finally got VAG COM and carried out a Auto Scan on my Allroad.
Can anyone shed any light on any of the fault codes ,in particular the Needle lift sensor fault.
    Thanks

Since it's flagged "Intermittent", the first thing I'd do is clear it and then see if or how fast it comes back.

    Thanks Uwe ,
Driven the car today and carried out a further scan which produced the same results......still intermittent though.
Being a intermittent fault i guess it could be something as simple as wiring.
    Any ideas??

    Thanks again

I'm seeing the same fault (01772) on my allroad, have you resolved the issue, if so how?

To be honest i don't think it's an issue as i have seen scans from other Allroad's and they also seem to flag that particular fault.
Have you had any other issues with your vehicle?

Yes the auto height doesn't auto at times, but then behaves normally at other times.
I have no issues with leakage and the suspension functions fine (at whatever height it's at). If it's misbehaving it won't adjust up manually either and eventually the air pump overload trips out (01577 fault). I'm pretty sure it's not a pump fault though.
Can anyone explain to me what role the Level Control Pressure Sensor plays in the system and the inter-relationship between it and the other components and how to narrow down the cause/effect of this 01772 fault.
I haven't had a poke around yet, could it be a simple as a dirty connection?

Can anyone give me a steer re this one?

My motor is an Allroad yr 2000 2.5tdi quattro.

the issue is that the car is sitting very low. Looks like on the lowest setting all round, and pushing the buttoms doesnt make any difference. Usually the orange light is on beside the buttons and the dash warning light is always on. Car feels like its driving just on the springs with no damping effect.

Will a non VAG specialist (with Bosch diagnostic equipment) be able to diagnose this issue? I can see other posts here pointing to faulty compressor/pumps and or suspension? airbags

Would appreciate some help as not having to go to Audi and pay their rates/hr was the whole point of the European legislation de-monopolising dealer servicing.

I does sound as though your compressor is not running. Are you using the vehicle at the moment?i would think you may do more damage if you are still driving vehicle in current state. An indy garage should be able to scan for faults to give you an idea of the problem.
Alternatively you could check the VAGCOM section for a local forum member that may be able to help.

thanks djl. Ive had it into the Bosch diagnostic garage locally here today and they say that its quite clearly pointing to a terminal failure of the Active Suspension Control Unit. Presumably thats nothing to do with the compressor itself, just that the messages arent being sent to the compressor cos command control is dead..
Im waiting to hear how much the Control unit is and then how much on top of that its going to be to set it up, which will prob need VAG
Any ideas on getting a Unit at a reasonable price. I'll check for local VAG. thanks alot.

Just a follow up for the benefit of other users.

Took the car to the Audi Dealer in Perth. Excellent service, although I'd expect that at £90/hr..

New Active Suspension Control Unit fitted and calibrated and all is perfect again. Cost was £300 + VAT for the part and 2 hours labour to set up.

Re one of the other posts above - read your owners manual re the suspension control buttons. You might be inadvertantly switching between auto and manual modes.
