    Hi guys/gals,

Just wondering what the best thing to use on Phantom Black paint is to get rid of small scratches?

A bit scared to just get the old T-Cut out and have a go as I'm never convinced it won't ruin the Pearlescent finish!!

Any advice welcomed with open arms

    Cheers

    Hey Shaziman,

Cool, does these work well with the Pearlescent paint?
I'm a bit worried that I'll ruin the finish on the paint!!

    Cheers

Hi, there are much better products available then the ones listed below so it depends on how deep the scratches are and how much you want to spend.

Assuming its only on top of the clear coat they will be easy to remove by hand as its not actually touched the paint. Look at www.cleanyoucar.co.uk Can you feel them with your nails if you run your nail over the scratch?

    DO NOT use T Cut.
Ensure that the area is very clean to begin with and all surface dirt has been removed, this ensure that you do not grind in any small particles into the paint and make it worse. Possibly clay the area
Look at Meguairs Scratch X, Meguiars Bodyshop #9 Swirl Remover, Carlack 68 - Scratch Remover Paste and Chemical Guys - Scratch & Swirl Buff Polish

    http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_147.html

Ensure you buy some quality applicator pads and cloths.

    http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microf...ths/cat_5.html

Wax, depending on the type of finish you want, deep, wet, just plain shiney

Ive used 3 of those products above on a 2006 A3 Maurtiuas Blue which I think is Pearl Paint. Ensure you cover with some good wax after wards and it will be as good as new.

    Yes Ive got OCD

    Hey mkc.

Fantastic site, think I'll be spending my lunch hour trawling through it

Will probly go for the Megs stuff, as I can get that from the local shop rather than waiting for it through the post!! OCD and am impatient!!

    Cheers

Scratch X is probably your best bet from Halfords or MotoMan or something. I cannot stress how important a quality applicator pad and cloth is needed tho, you could end up making it worse. Good luck but Im sure you will be fine with scratch x and some patience if you do it by hand.
