Cambelt change on 2.5 V6 TDI

My A4 2.5 tdi has just reached the major cambelt change and I have just been quoted £580.00 for this by an independent garage.

Is that right?

4 hours labour, but with all of the pulleys etc etc nearly £380.00 in parts......

try euro carparts gfs or vagparts shouldnt be 380 for parts

580 is expensive for an independant, try stafford audi they advertise v6 cambelt changes for 395.

Hi, Stafford Audi replace just the belt and tensioner for that price, every other thing is extra: pump belt, water pump, etc. I do replace cambelts for v6 tdi for 360 quid all in and you get: Contitech/Gates cambelt kit, new uprated water pump (with metal impeler), pump belt kit, aux. drive belt, AC belt + fresh coolant and a diagnostic test ! I live in N. London but i will travel to you if within reasonable distance for fuel money . Trade prices for the parts alone are 300 pounds ! regards, Chris- 07789912128.
