    Hi All,
I'm looking into changing the head unit on my Passat, from the OEM one to a new Sony MEX BT5000 (http://www.sonyxplod.co.uk/Head-Unit...ree-phone-kit/).

Does anybody know if it is possible to remove the OEM head unit, install the Sony and use it with the front loading OEM CD changer .

My Passat is a 2001 TD pdi sport estate. The stereo is the one with the front loading CD changer just below the head unit.

    Any advice would be great

You'll need an adaptor to run from the HU to the CD changer. I've searched for a while for this but can't seem to dig up any information.

Personally, I have a Blaupunkt HU and in-dash changer.

If you have to have the Sony HU then your best solution would be add a changer to the boot.

I'll keep on searching though, I may be missing something obvious!

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

I've got the in-dash changer as well and would really like to keep using that.
Like you, I've been looking but haven't found any info on it - here's hoping...
