subwoofer upgrade in a4..

Hi guys

I have an audi b6 avant (2002). I have a concert system with the standard 8 inch subwoofer in the side panel of the boot, along with the amp.

If I was to replace the standard 8 inch subwoofer with this higher wattage woofer -

for more bass and less distortion at high volumes...would I need a higher wattage amplifier? I really just want to keep it all hidden away in the side panel of the boot.

Would the new sub run using less power or would it simply drain the amp of all power it needs?

Hi Mate

You wont really see any gain from adding a more powerful woofer as you will still only be putting the same power into it as you are into the Audi one - it would be best to upgrade the amp as well.

You will probably find that running that sub on the standard amp will cause distortion as the new woofer needs more power to drive it properly
