Pollen filter/Wiper Motor- bulkhead Trim Covers

Have just replaced a broken wing aerial on our recently acquired 1995 Mk3. I noticed there was handfuls of leaf debris in the bulkhead/firewall well, especially around the pollen filter.

Two things I'd like to ask:

1. The Haynes Manual appears to refer to a pollen filter 'cover'. If it should have one, it's missing on ours. Just the exposed filter. Can anyone confirm what should be there?

2. the n/s trim panel has no fine edge left (the strip that is supposed to hug the screen and prevent debris from getting into the well. I'd like to replace these but has anyone an idea of price and are they available anywhere other than VW main dealers? I wondered about getting a s/h trim from the breakers but suspect the perishing on these trims may be common.
