Hello all, in response to a few of the questions, for reviews search for the whatcar, autocar etc. These are completely independant and refuse sponsorship etc from the tyre manufacturers. It's all subjective anyway, I had Pirelli's on my GT170 and hated them, went onto Conti and they feel great, one man's meat is another's poison.
With regards to OE, Dunlop, Pirelli, Conti and Mich have all had a share in the 17 inch fitment out of the factory, it's the same case with the 16 inch too.
Mateus: On the 17s you need at least a W rating or a V in the 16 inch.
Architect: The 205's you've mentioned are the 205/55R
16 fitment, if you want 225's you'll have to upgrade to 17 inch wheels with a 45 profile.
Keith: The Michelins are pretty much the best you can get, normally the most expensive too! If anyone wants them, try ATS (as Mich own them) or Costco, who sell only Michelin at very very low prices. I'm a member of the Birmingham branch.

Thanks for the advice - Will stick with what I've got and get some new rubber soon.

The Pirellis on the rear were fine though, had done 32K and stil had about 4mm left on them

I agree totally with your comments re the P-Zero Rossos. I've run these on the front of my A4 2.5TDi (non-quattro) & have only got 10k out of both sets I've had. Added to which I think their damp-to-semi wet grip is really poor (but they're good in the really wet... go figure).

I now need new boots again (hence why I'm here...) so I think it's time for a change.

    Hi Dunc,

I'm needing to change my two fronts and I think I'm going to give Goodyear F1 Assymetrics a go, good reviews all round and a decent price on www.mytyres.co.uk

Will let you know how I get on.

I have allways found Toyo's to be excellent on the wear front and for traction wet or dry, however they do suffer with road noise
