Wife's Golf 2.0SE Estate on 'X'Plate, 87K miles - Bought back in Nov'07, shortly after had ABS light on.
Took car to an independant dealer, who immediatly launched into ABS pump @
£450, Control Board £500 etc etc, Went away feeling deflated. The dealer also pointed out the petrol 2.0SE has a Diesel 1.9 ABS pump.
After reading forums I was peeved why the dealer didn't start at ABS sensor's @ £20.
After some heavy braking and some loud noises from under the bonnet, the ABS function cut in, The ABS light went out for several weeks.
Now its MOT Time coming up...The ABS light has since come on again, refusing to go out.
Luckily when we purchased the car from dealer we also purchased a comprehensive 3 year warranty.
Has anyone any advice on these ABS symptoms and any recommendations?
    Replies gratefully received.....

Have checked fuses now, Used emery paper to make contacts shiny again.
ABS light has now been out for a while now....
Also have booked car in for 90K service and MOT at the same time.
Chap at AFS Volkswagon / Skoda (Exeter) was really helpful.
