1.6 Diesel/ 1.6 TD differences? - tuning?

I was wondering exactly what are the differences between the standard diesel and the turbo diesel mechanically?

Basically I have a 1.6Diesel engine which I`m about to fit to my camper and I found out they are slightly lacking in power, which with this in mind I wondered what exactly I could do for more power?

Turbo would be a lovely bolt on idea except pressure sensitive fueling?

Super chargers? I thought the super charger might work with the normally aspirated diesel because it runs at a constant pressure and a constantly increasing pressure with engine speed so adjustment to fueling could be made on the pump as opposed to like with turbos that cut in and then need to get more fuel at all sorts of different rates.

Have you considered just getting a newer, bigger TDi diesel engine instead of modding the one you have? I looked in to diesel tuning on my 306 D-turbo and the answer I got from most places was "Don't do it!"
For the cost of a engine conversion I would expect that you could get a good 2nd hand unit but you would have to cost it out. I'm sure you could eBay your old one

There are several major differences, but the killer would be the lack of the oil jets that keep the pistons cool from the extra heat that would go with the extra power. It's canadian though, but there is plenty of stuff that I have learnt from there.
