    having probs wit my 03 golf tapping from head changed tappetsand roller rocker arms both for the new revised versions but no joy still the same using long life oil .any ideas before i rebuilt engine with only 40k on it

    did you resolve your problem? my is 02 golf 1.4 bca engine and tapping noise, also misfire for cylinder 3,low compression there.85 psi. Others around 170.Looks like valve burnt.I poor some oil into cylinder,compression rose.So rings should be okey.Some sugested to look for replacement engine.i also noticed sump repair.May be this wehicle ran without oil for some time.Can i use other code 1.4 engine?Thanks for any help.

    no one knows about the noise, then i know now- its hidraulic tapets some of them were squashed.Can anyone tell is it posible to take engine from mk5 golf 1.4 bud code and fit to mk4 golf 2003 which had bca engine 1.4.
