Does anyone know if a 2002 Audi A6 Tdi 130 with a 5 speed MANUAL gearbox has a gearbox oil filter? I wont bore you with the reasons I need to know, but hopefully it will solve a problem if it does have one.

Cheers for that. I presume that it is just the auto box that has one.

As above really, I think it's just an automatic that has one.

Basically, when it is cold the the gearbox is difficult to get into 2nd gear. It went for a repair and they changed the 2nd gear and examined everything and it was ok. It was put back on the car and filled with oil, but it was still as bad as before the repair. After about 10 to 15 minutes of driving the oil had warmed up and there was no problems going into gear. The gearbox specialist said that it needed Automatic transmission fluid in it as that not as thick as normal gearbox oil and will stop the gears from baulking up. It has worked to a degree, but it is still difficult to get into 2nd gear when it is cold, but only for a minute or so. Obviously, it is now getting warmer so the problem is less frequent, but bloody annoying all the same.
