Just got my cable from the group buy, but I can't make it work! I downloaded 409.1, selected com3 and it said interface found. But when scanning it doesn't appear to comunicate with the car.

I've seen a real vagcom cable work, and it filled in the fields with the chassis number, engine code and suchlike.

I can't get mine to do this?

    Any advice?

even though it says interface found are you sure its on the same com port as in device manager and have you checked the baud rate and tried 9600? thats the biggest reason cables wont communicate. it is possible the cable maybe faulty but recheck the settings and see if that sorts it out

thanks for your suggestions, the cable (from the error shown) is not faulty.

Meathead, if you want this to be resolved, please keep the issue on my GB thread , so it's easier to keep track of.

i did state maybe the cable may be faulty not it actually is faulty !

if the user has all the setting correct like everyone else is using the same item, i only put the comment as a last resort and unless you check everyone before posting and have never had one back then we will assume its not faulty and its in the settings which are preventing the car communicating with the software ?

    regards
