    ive heard that engines are lossing oil pressure and doing engine damage due to the oil pump drive breaking. my local dealer has had to replace two engines over this and it seams vw do know about it but no recall to fit mod pump . does any one know any more about this. (it seams the people who buy the car are the testers for vw as this model seams to have fault after fault)

    Yes, mine went at 28k, the sister car went at 18k.

    They aren`t going to issue a recall as it was only a faulty batch of bought-in parts that cause it, and if it goes whilst in warranty they seem to bang a new engine in - no questions.

    What will happen if you have done say 65 k and so have a car out of warranty, well only time will tell.
    The cost doesn`t bear thinking about........
