Audi a4 tdi turbo problem

Hi all.iv got an R reg audi a4 tdi estate AFN engine code.
when driving the turbo works fine for a untill you reach 3 or 4 gear or a period of time and then there is no power at all in the engine.
as soon as you switch the ignition off and then back on the power is back as it should be.
any suggestions?thanks

Could be the air flow meter or the actuator arm, try taking out the air flow meter and spraying some carb cleaner through it. The sensor can get dirty quite easily, especially if the air filter hasn't been changed in a while.
If that doesn't work try putting some wd40 on the actuator arm, this will only help temporarily, but is a quick check to see if you need to take it out and loosen it up.

it could also be a dirty variable geometry mechanism. maybe even more likely than the actuator arm. sort it out as soon as possible, what you are getting is limp mode. good luck.
