    Hello!

I have a 2002, 1.8t estate and battery is on its way out. I picked up a replacement one, intending to swap it myself.

I cannot see though for the life of me how to get the old one out and the new one in. It has a bracket holding it in place which comes off fine. But then the position of the battery means I cannot get it out. Above it there is a plastic covering, that has the wipers integrated in, and in front is a 'hose' type affair that doesn't look like it shifts very easily.

Has anyone done this - did you have to take the wipers off and take of the plastic shield bit? or is there some obvious simple solution I am missing!
