Hi all, my 5 door colour concept gti has developed a very strange problem. The windows on the drivers side work fine, but the passenger side windows are a different story. They move fine but when trying to close them, the window will fully close and then lower immediately to just past half way. The only way of closing them is by raising them a cm at a time.
And if i try to use the total clousure on the door look they also lower, but only by an inch or so.

Any suggestions would be appricated as its no fun sitting on leather seats for 5 mins on a warm sunny day just trying to get the windows to close !!!

I was told the soloution to this problem is to lower the window then hold the switch for about 20 seconds so the regulator resets where the bottom is. Try that

This behaviour, I have been told, can be caused by the windows not sliding as well as they should in their guides. So when the resistance builds up before it is fully closed, the window will open as it thinks a hand or something is in the way of its closing. Not sure about the switch and the reset technique, but slicone lubricant was meant to do the job.

Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately the reset technique made no difference at all.

With regards to the windows not sliding well enough in the runners, all the windows seem to slide well all the way up and down with no variiation in speed and they only lower when they have reached the closed position. If there is a facility to lower the windows when they feel to much pressure, maybe the fully closed limit is not being picked up and this resistance from the window frame is causing the window to lower ???????????????

This does seem to make sence with the regulator needing to reset to where the fully lowered or raised is.
