Advice on Golf electric problems

I Have been working my way through problems on a 1997 gti Golf I bought twelve months ago. Got three electric windows working but the last window opens fine but will not close . You can hear the motor running but the window dosen't move. The strange thing is that the window can be slid up easily by hand? Anyone else had this? I guess it may be a regulator problem?

My second problem is that the interior light doesn't work. I have checked all the wires to the switches and can't see any problems with the door switches. The light comes on by hand when switched so that seems ok. Strange think was about six weeks ago the light was on all the time. Do the interior lights run off of a relay? If so which one, as I guess this could be the problem?

Does anyone know where the relay for the interior light is?

There isn't one. Check fuse 21 though.

Hi there is no relay,if the interior light does not work from any of the doors,i would imagine it was the light there is something wrong with.Check the brown on white wire on the light,with the door open you should have earth.

How does it control a 10 second delay when doors are locked until light goes off?

Found a problem with the circuit on the light (Answered my own question now can see the timer circuit on the board!)
Still haven't got anywhere with the window problem going to pull it all out over the weekend. Just seems strange it will open but not close?
