Try disconnecting the battery for an hour before and while you change them, then when you have done the MAF swap, re-connect the battery and start the car and let it idle for a few minutes, it chould clear the fault be OK.

Get it on VAG-COM to have the fault codes read. If the problem is getting worse and you've tried 2 different MAFs, it could be something else entirely.

Cam/Crank sensor or coolant temp sensor possibly. If you're near North London, PM me and you can come down and we'll hook it up to VAG-Com.

ok so i recieved my airmass meter put it in and disconnected the power for 30 mins and starts the car and it stalls starts it again and stalls does it a few times and then it runs ok.the new sensor seems to have solved the low power faults but when you push the accelerator to the floor quick the engine seems to drop revs then kick in,the stalling only happens when the car has not been run for about 4,5 hours it dont really want to go to the dealer coz i know there gonna spank my **** any suggestions many thanks

You can get the codes read and cleared at just about any garage for about £25.

So now you have fitted a new AMM you need to get them re-read, printed and cleared. Then drive the car again for a week or two and have them read again. What comes back (as long as you don’t disconnect anything with the ignition on) can be trusted as a good code and you can take it from, there.
