how does one get the front seat out from my B5.5 passat estate? i've slid it right back & it seems to have a pin bearing on a rubber roller that prevents it sliding further allowing removal.

i can't see how this pin is meant to come out, maybe i'm barking up the wrong tree?

i need to take the passenger seat out to get the carpet up more so i can dry it as it appears to be suffering from the well documented (on this site) problem with water ingress. also, i believe the control module is under the carpet somewhere, but i've not come across it yet. where should i be looking?

    TIA

Well on top of the track that the roller's slide in there is a plastic cover that need's taking off (torx screw with plastic cover) can be accesed from the back.
Then there is 2 nuts at the front in the middle of the seat undo them and it should roll back off the track.
If your's has air bags in the seat then there is a wire with a yellow plug that need's to be taken off but this will leave you with a air bag fault code!
I don't know if you take the battery lead off first if this is a workaround?

If your's has electric windows then the control module is just under the carpet
    just infront of the seat.......
The other control module could be there to.
