Can anyone explain how the carbon effect dashboard trim on the passenger side of my 56tdi sport is removed. I have a slight rattle that needs fixing but dont want to attempt to remove the trim untill I know the correct procedure.

Did you ever find this out or attempt it?

I have a slight mark on my piece of trim on the passanger side and thought if I could get a replacement I would change it myself.

I think it must just be clipped in surely.

There is one screw that is near the center which you can access from the glovebox. The rest of it just clips out then.

I forced mine and broke the piece at the back of the trim where the screw screws into. Removing the screw solved my squeaking problems!

Thanks for the heads up, gives me something to do this weekend.

I haven't seen any on good old E-Bay but they won't be too expensive from VW.
My car is going in for some warranty work next week so may as well ask the question for free replacement.
