    just got my new tail lights through from germany some black out import ones, and connected them to my car and pressed the brake light and the indicators came on. its all around the wrong way does any one no an easy way of fixing this problem???? lucky i tested them first other wise i would have had to change them back to standard and that would have been annoying. any help thanks. its on a 1999 1.9 tdi a4 thanks

    Had the same problem! I replaced the circuit board(where the bulbs go on) with a 2000 model(mine is a 98) Now ive got sidelights at top, then indicators, then reverse and then brake light at bottom!!

    yeah but i have now got blacked out lights so couldnt do that. i just had to chop around with the wires and i have just sorted it out thanks. looks wicked now ill put a picture up if u can do that on here

    yeah mate defo. ebay jobby 100 squid from germany so you wont see many like it. had to chop some wires but got there in the end.

    you may need to stick a couple of reflectors on when it comes to the MOT, as these lights often don't feature them.

    does look better though

    reflectors???? i dont understand you gota picture. y would it fail because they are street legal im sure of it.........

    all cars have to have red reflectors to the rear. These are normally built into the rear light cluster.

    Hence when people paint the lights black they fail.

    On yours I cannot see the reflectors in the pic, so if you don't have them built in, just put a couple of stick on ones below each light for the MOT and you will go through.
