Can anyone help me, I am having problems with my fuel gauge. My fuel warning light is coming on when the gauge is reading half full. I don't know if I have got half a tank of petrol or running low! Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

    hi surgey..
my petrol gauge reads full.. ALL THE TIME!!!!

and like you my fuel warning light is on constantly.. but my temp gauge reads full on too, and my speedo reads 25mph, and the rev counter 2.5000 revs!

    the instrument cluster's funked!

bad thing is.. you've got to take out the old one to get the part number in order to get a new one.. total pain in the **** i think!

apparently it's a problem with A3s.. a bloke on watchdog sprayed the board on the back of his cluster with wd40 and fixed his (his was from a focus tho?)

i'm gunna try it this weekend.. good luck

One way to see if it is the fuel gauge or warning light that's died is to fill up at the petrol station.

If you can only put half a tank in to fill it up then the warning light is faulty, however, if you can put a full tank in then the fuel gauge is faulty.
