newby needs help

hi everyone,i have just bought a 1996 p reg audi A4,i need to ask a couple of questions,first is today i started the car and had no horn,dipped/main beam,indicators,radio,horn,wipers.i had brake lights,headlamp flash,rear fogs and the engine ran all right,what i need to know is there an issue with the ignition switches that could cause this? another thing is the radio has been rewired and at the moment i dont know how where the power feed goes yet.
after getting home i turned off the car went inside and back to the car and everything was working as it should,the only thing i did was pull out a couple of fuses,i drove the car from where i bought it and had no problems after a 65 mile drive.

next thing is how do i remove the ash tray asm in the front console?

Hi there,

I have had the same problem once, mine was a little differnt thou, i was driving along and most of my electrical items stopped working aparp from hazards and brake lights. 20 mins later the car cut out, and the battery light was on for a bit, so i got out and thought maybe the alt may have broken but it wasnt. So i started up and everything was fine, no problems since, that was a round 10k ago too!!

the other problem i have with the car is the temp gauge doesnt work,and i dont know if this is a fault but the oil and temp lights flash while the ignition is switched on but engine not running,the car is a 90bhp diesel.where is the temp sender on the engine
