A4 1.8T, Oil Pressure Warning

Had a breakdown over weekend towed home from M62 Huddersfield to MCR. Oil Pressure light/warning had come on, beeping. I assumed oil shortage so put some oil in, it went again about half an hour later.

I've heard that there is sometimes an issue getting oil from sump to head, and tappets at head of engine are running oil free, sounds like a diesel.

Has anyone else experienced this, what can I expect by way of labour costs to remedy, any ideas?

when mine did that it was the oil pump the feed to it gets blocked was a sump off job and new pump

a friend at a local did mine had belts water pump etc done at same time was 400 parts were bout 175 i think
swifts did a friends thats an indi audi spesh and they charger him goin on 600
