My Golf Gti 2.0 8v Mk4 rear wash doesnt work - wiper operates - no water. There are stains on the headlining from what is probably the wash fluid leak - not the headlining itself but the piece descending from the headlining ( passenger side rear) to the parcel shelf. I have heard the pipes disconnect - how do I get in to find the leak - cant see how to remove the headlining or rear hatch trim to get in and have a look?

    haynes manual reads
the headlining is clipped to the roof and can be withdrawn only once all the fitting such as the handles sun visor sunroof and relayed upper trim panels have been removed and the door tailgate and sunroof apeture sealing strips have been prised clear

    also reads:
note that the headlining removal requires considerable skill and experience if it is to be carried out without damage and is therfore best entrusted to an expert

    good luck

    Hello Ian,

Not to fear, just need a steady extra helping hand and a dry afternoon. I had a pretty similar issue going on with my golf. Windscreen washer fluid leaking into the boot etc.

I wrote down what I managed to achieve in the thread below. Hope it helps as it could save you a bit of cash down the line.
