Sharan brake calipers help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a sharan 2005 hand brake is lose but the brakes work and got told by mechanic to change the brake calipers .
Can the calipers be the cause of the problem?

if the calipers fail they fail on the handbrake side usually
if in any dought get a second opinion

I had a faulty caliper on my car. It took some work but I managed to free it up last year and it has been ok since.

As for the handbrake being loose, it can be adjusted under the centre of the car.

Otherwise, have you had new rear brakes fitted? When doing so I think the piston needs to be set (wound in /wound out) correctly so as to have the correct movement. If it is too far open, the handbrake might not work?

Somebody wiser on here may correct me for this? Feel free.
