My avant with new s3's

thought i'd post few pics of my recently purchased avant with my newly purchased s3/8 allloys! lowering and colour coding next on list of to dos, but i'm a student and only just 20 so finances are a major obstacle as you can imagine lol! what you all think? s3's were a bit of a rash buy, and hadnt ever seen them on an a4 before but think they look ok

Get your avant lowered now that you have the wheels on as soon as you can. It will make the wheels and the car look a lot better. I have my avant on in a couple of posts here. You will see the difference from it when it is lowered.




A boy I know has a saloon the same colours as your a4 and it looks nice witht the quattro kit on it. He is selling it if you want to see what the colour is like with a kit and lowered.

yeah i know need it lowered badly just the cost factor lol. any idea what the lowest springs are for the avant or what are best, heard somewhere lowest for b6 avant were 35mm. would like a set of bilstein coilovers ideally, but will have to go the spring route as a temporary measure. recogonize your car by the way i think? was it ever on reallymeansounds?

Not to sure as I have not looked into it in great detail. I was pricing for coilovers but they are an expensive piece of kit. Around £500 - £1000 for good ones.

I ended up going the cheapest route myself. I reackon my shocks are nearlly at the end of there life so I have a full 11 months before my next test. So a nice guy with an angle grinder took a couple of coils from myt springs. £50 all in!!

In 10 months time roughly a set of coilovers will be put in to replace the cut springs and the dying shocks!!!

The car has never been in any agazines. It is in Ireland if that helps you know where you recognized it!!!

yeah www.reallymeansounds.com, is a car website that alot of ppl in the north coast would use, around portstewart portrush area, almost sure one of the members of the site used to have a car very similar to yours maybe not like also www.jon44w.com is another, could possibly have been on it should check them out see if it there. think the owner was from belfast area??????? prob just one very like yoursnice car by the way, very nice

Thats it before I had it. All I have changed since then is the roof rails to silver and got it lowered. It is finished now. I may take the A4 and TDI badges off the back this weekend though




Its better now. I think I have made my mark on it!!

welcome to the forum.
I like those S3 alloys, not seen them on an A4 before. If you're looking for a set of lowering springs, I have a set of PIs sat under my bed. I was going to fit them to my saloon but I've fitted s-line bumpers etc and it actually sits quite nicely on my 18s. (I do have the sports suspension which is 20mm lower apparently). The Springs would sit your down 35mm. If you're interested then pm me. Lucas
