I have a VW rear parking sensor kit that I want to fit to my 170 Sport.

I would like to use the factory-fitted sensor positions, rather than the lower positions detailed in the kit instructions. I think they look neater evenly spaced and without the angled spacers on the middle two sensors. I have been told that this works ok (thanks AAman). However, I don't know what spacing the factory fitted sensors use.

Would someone out there with the factory sensors be kind enough to measure the spacing of their sensors, and let me know what they are?

    Many thanks

    Mike

Mike, I have the factory fit sensors on my 170 Estate. The middle two are approx 48 cm apart, whilst the outer two are 43 cm from the middle two, measured centre to centre. The outer ones are pretty much lined up vertically with the middle of the large rear light (slight 2cm offset towards middle of car), and the sensors are 2cm below the 45 degree bevel bottom edge. Hope this helps.

That's brilliant - just what I wanted. Thanks for taking the trouble.

I had a sneaky feeling the four sensors weren't evenly spaced, and you've confirmed it.

If you are doing it yourself, there were very detailed fitting instructions posted on here a while ago - might be worth a search.
