Central Locking not working

Hi, has anyone come across this problem & is it easy to fix?

My central locking has stopped working. When I try to lock the door or boot with the key (no remote access), there is a whirring noise as if the motor is trying to work. I have checked & replaced the fuses, but still not working. Someone has mentioned this is the Lock Actuator Motor? Has anyone had the same problem, if so have you been able to fix it? Would appreciate some , thanks

I one had a 1995 Golf 1800 with Vacum central locking that behaved simular. The problem was a leaking tube to one front passanger door. Most likely it is something like that or joints somewhere on the way. Listen for the hiss sound when the pump is strugling.

thats your impellor that is broken inside. what you have a dry pressure pump and the impellor generates the pressure. As the garphite disc is broken you can only hear the motor noise.
