    Looking for some advice.

    I have a 2007 plate A4 2.0TFSI Special Edition.

Just got a couple of tyres replaced at a local garage. On checking, they've fitted 225 width tyres rather than 235s which were on originally.

I now have 235s on the front and 225s on the rear. Is this an issue?

    Many thanks.

I don't think it's a problem with 2wd as long as the tyres are the same across the axle.

but if you have quattro then it's a problem....you need all tyres the same size

mum used to have a skoda many years ago, when they were proper skoda's. i watched a kwik fit bod fit some 155's, and when he had finished pointed out that he should have fitted 165's, which were on there to start. he didn't like this, especially coming from a 10 year old, but he swapped them over.
so i would go back and politely tell them they have made a mistake. its not illegal, as they are on the same axle, but its not right.

having different tyres isn't so much an issue.

but if you asked for 235 and they fitted 225 I'd go back and request replacements.
If you asked for tyres and didn't specify size then you're in a slightly trickier situation - the garage may have fitted what they thought to be the correct size.
You may have a tricky time convincing them.
If you're going back to the garage, do it promptly - don't run about in those tyres for a week thinking about it.

Zollaf may be right in that it's not right.....but do you know the correct tyre size for your car???? ignoring what was on beforehand since that might be wrong.
If the correct size for your model is 225, then you have no arguement, unless you specifically said fit 235.

Thanks for all the replies. The car's always had 235's on since new. To be fair to the garage I didn't specifically ask for 235's but I had thought, perhaps stupidly, that they wouldn't deviate from what was fitted to begin with. Will take the car back today and see what they say.

Yeah it should be like for like, not like for something we have in stock. Get them to change them to the 235's. I've got the same car and 235's all the way, but my ones a quattro so its even more important.

Thanks again for all the feedback - very much appreciated. Pleased to report that common sense has prevailed and the garage very decently admitted it was their error and I'm getting 235s fitted tomorrow.
