Hi
Im a newbie with a a very poorly Golf V5. A week ago my lovely car decided that she was going to start, and a week later no one has still been able to start her.

Tomorrow she will be back on a recovery truck from one garage to a VW garage.

Following a diagnostic check, the following has been found;

Emissions Light on (been on for a couple of weeks - was booked in to sort this)
EPC warning on and off

Burnt out coil & faulty cam sensor.

Engine is lacking in compression.

The perfomance of the car has been spluttering at 5000 rpm but then sorts itself out.
To stop overnight just seems bizaar, plus when I ask about the engine compression people seem to suck through their teeth pull their face and start talking about stripping down the cyclinders to find the problem.

Im gutted, this has happend - but a 5 year old 2.3 V5 engine just cant give up like that can it?

Any help, suggestions would be really appreciated - im starting to worry that its not fixable
