ok well the fuel pump arrived. i did 1 last test before swapping it, and when i went out tot he car it wouldnt start at all, i had my dad in the boot to here if the pump was priming whist i turned the ignition and there was nothing, so i swapped the fuel pump relay(although that was the first thing i did after reading this thread) with the one from my mk2 golf and it instantly started working. done 100 miles odd around town with no probs so far. so a tip to anyone having simlar issues is try 2 relays

father in law had similar probs with his vento 2.0 GL 8v (2E engine)

turned out to be the ignition coil (breaking down when hot)

and sometimes the car would not start at all & that was the crank sensor,

but as we all know the crank sensor on the 2.0 8v is incorporated into the
distributor so we had to search the whole of the north east for a replacement

after that though the vento ran perfect,

I Think It May Be My Fuel Pump,as The Power Stays On Ie The Lights And Dials, only The Engine Cuts And The Fuel Pump Relay Clicks Like Mad... Or...

Could It Be The Crank Speed Sensor....... !!!!

Any One Have Any More Good Advice

    Hi,

I've been having the same problem with my A6 2.5 tdi V6 SE. It just cuts out as your driving along normally. It usually restarts straight away, but it is a MASSIVE pain in the @rse.

Took it to my local deisel specialist. He plugged it in, read the fault code, turns out to be a faulty engine speed sensor in the injection pump. He even read the fault code from the injection pump itself just confirm the fault, it was correct.

So, its going in tomorrow, gonna cost about £600 to get it sorted........

    GUTTED........

Hello guys! I have a problem with my Vento, when I start the car when the engine is cold, it works perfectly, but if the motor is hot and I turn it off, when I start it again, the car goes max to 110-120km/h. It's like it does not get enough airflow. I put the car on a tester and it said that the debitmetter is fault, but I've changed the debitmetter and same situation.
Do you have an idea on what the problem could be? Thank you very much!
