When I drive the car normally in Drive position, sometimes if I approach a roundabout or a junction and slow down, then I press the throttle again a bit sharpish, the car can search for a gear and sometimes leave you stranded for a bit before leaping into action. Has anybody else had this and if so is there a cure?

Have you talked to the dealer at all? It could be a simple software upgrade....

Some dealers are better than others but if you get nowhere with the "We can't find a problem" line, then find a pattern/place it happens and take an engineer out there to prove it - that's how I've got them to acknowledge the creaking suspension on my car...

i thought this was just me, when approaching roundabout / junction i seem to slow down then find a nice gap to get out in, when you then give it a bit of lets get out of here quick gas, and nothin happens for about 2 seconds, all of a sudden boom the power is back, bye this time i am thinking ooops this guy is going to hit me.

it seems to be when the dsg cannot make its mind up if it should stay in second or drop down into first.

It does seem to take a bit of getting used to, but once you get over the little niggles the box is great, i have not had a manual that can keep up from the lights, i always seem to be in third and off and running while manual is still changing into second.

If there is a software upgrade to eradicate this that would be great but mine is a 57 2.0 tdi dsg so would expect it has the latest software already.

I have found that whacking it into sport on a quick approach to a roundabout seems to help it make its mind up quicker or pre selecting manually, drive does seems happier when plodding but doesnt like being told to hurry up.

and i thought it was meant to learn driving style, lets hope it learns that we are all a little impatient at roundabouts.

sounds exactly the same. It can be embaressing when there is a passenger in the car, when theres nothing and then all of a sudden the lower gear comes in and you each break your neck !
You are right, you do get use to it and yes if i know i'm going to be in a hurry then I slip it into sport and it performs better. Drive can be a bit cumbersome.

    Thanks for the feed back
