    Hi New on here,
recently purchased an A3 (1600) X reg, and soon after the instrument panel would flicker after driving approx 10 mins the panel lights would normalise, yesterday I left for work and realised I had forgot something so returned to my house and nipped in when I returned to my car it wouldnt start at all there seems to be a complete electric power failure, when I put keys in ignition it doesnt click or turn over (nothing) I have checked the fuses and they appear to be fine, can anyone please advise? thanks

    Hi Stigger,

Just a thought, have you checked all the battery connections and perhaps the earth straps?
I am no expert but I dont think that ECU failure would result in total electrical failure?
Do your lights etc still operate?
If not, I would look down the battery cables and earth straps.

    Sorry I can't help further.

    best of luck

    Jim

Sounds like you need a new battery or alternator.
Check that there isn't anything draining battery while it's parked - aftermarket alarm / stereo or that the brake light switch is faulty ( this can cause the brake lights to come when it's parked and drain the battery)
