Hi all i have a VW passt 98 1.8t its a good car great for the family but i have a very jerky acceleration problem, it is worse when cold and slightly better when warmed up. when i start the car it idels then when i try to accelerate it is very jerky and will not give me more then 5000 revs.
if u leave the car out of gear and put ur foot down the revs go up to 4 or 5 thousand tops and the goes back down and up again. it can be dangerous as sometime u get scared to pull out onto a road and not have enough power to get up to speed quickly.

    plz anyone help me!
