My Gismo was on offer via eBay from www.celoxperformance.com, for £24.95, it's just a single box with built -in connectors. Very neat, but... I think it's for the wrong model Does anyone know how many pins there are on the Air Temp Sensor..?

alll these gizmo's do is fool the car's senser into thinking the air is colder than it really is eg more fuel goes in to get a bigger bang....i tried one of these on a mondeo and rolling road tuned it....it was running rich all the time...not worth the money.....spend the money once on a decent chip from a reputable company.....it's worth it in the long run..

.... I'm inclined to agree. The same performance and economy increase is apparently available from a $400 box - which re-maps all the spark / injector timing signals, as I understand it. This sounds like the only way to achieve a more efficient combustion.

    some maths...
Might improve consumption by 8 mpg or more; say 15 - 20%.
15,000 miles pa (at about 45 mpg) is 333 gallons, or almost £1,400. So the saving is £210 - 280 pa. and the box should pay for itself in a year and generate enough spare cash for a weekend away for two, each year after that!

    :-)

Agree with you 100%. If anyone wants more power from their engine, get a remap or buy a tunning box(diesels) or a chip. Resistors like gizmos just fool the ECU into thinking that its colder outside than it is, trows more fuel to aid cold starting(when the air its denser and therefore more enters the cylinders) and it will run lumpier and will screw the lambda probe and the catalyst in a short time because of the unburnt fuel. If you guys wanna get a decent chip/tunning box, do a bit of research as usual cheapo boxes never seen an rolling road(expensive !) and may not have the TUV(german standard) approval and may/will invalidate warrenty and compromise expensive parts within an engine...Look for renowned vendors and you wont go wrong, you get what you pay for or ...you pay for what you get... ?
