i'd be careful about a hike up to 185 bhp from a 130, i just got my 130[6 speed] remapped to 170bhp (30% increase) and the clutch started slipping within about 40 miles of having it done. Its hard to understand the torque increase does the most damage.

The usual comments on remap threads say that if you are going for a remap above 170bhp from a 130 you would be recommended to get an uprated clutch fitted. Considering ive just been quoted £771 from an audi dealership to replace my clutch its worth considering the cost on top of the £230 i payed for the remap.

Ps. id still recommend the remap, but at a more sensible figure - 170bhp.

Mine was remapped to 191bhp and 306lb of torque, and four thousand miles later I have no evidence of clutch weakness.

It's the torque which does the damage; with mechanical sympathy when pulling off from standstill should help protect the clutch.

Slinetugga - get in contact with Chip n Spin who are in your neck of the woods. They have remapped quite a few forum members cars. They have a dedicated section on the forum.

    hello mate!
thanks first of all for the HELP!
My main concern is that with the remap of the ECu the car starts givin me engine, all others problems related with the change. Also because I drive my car as a private chaffeur doing 400 to 500 miles a week the engine in a near future starts like i said giving me problems!
so the price for you 280 seems reasonable?many thanks
