Brake issues

recently had issues with my brakes and looking for help please...

recentyl had the 2 rear brake lights go out (3rd one ok) and the Warning light come in on the dash intermittently. there seemed to be no logic as to when the light came in, but when the warning was not in, only the driver side rear brake lamp is out;

today the brake warning (amber colour) came in on the driving info system {between the rev and speedo} and will not go out. tried changing the rear brake lamp but no success. all brake pads seem ok, plenty of fluid in the bottle.

Went to local garage today and he does no think it can be the brake switch as 'if it were then all the rear brake lights would not work'. is this true?

going away with work tomorrow for 2 weeks so looking for quick solution? is it safe to drive it like this or is there something serious?
