  1. Question Fitting Front Fog Lights
    #1
    Pidge_MKV Guest
    Hi,

I have a MK5 TDi Match and want to add front fog lights. Is the wiring already in place? I know I'd need to replace the lighting dial for a fog light one and i'd need the fog lights and surrounds...

    Thanks,
    Neil.

I asked about the dealer fitting fog lights to my new Match while they were installing reversing sensors. I was told it was one of the only options that had to be factory fitted and they couldn't do it. Even cruise control is an easier option to dealer fit.

If anyone knows different I'd love to know as I think it's the only thing the Match misses out on.

I know I can buy the switch, the surrounds and even the fog light units themselves on Ebay but I was wondering if the wiring loom was installed as standard... but I guess that is not the case as otherwise dealers would have no trouble fitting them.

If I was to fit the lights but not wire them, would this fail an MOT? Not that its due an MOT for another 2 years anyway...

I have heard of a fellow golf owner on another forum being quoted £600+ for this upgrade DIY I think
