Hi, does anyone know or has anyone had the auto hold function fitted as a dealer fit option after taking delivery of their car. I had a Tiguan on loan from my dealer last week with auto hold and was very impressed with it. I would like it on my car.

I would have thought that it would be as simple as fitting a button next to the gear stick and a tweak via Vag Com or am I wishfull thinking?

Any thoughts or comments would be great.

    Thanks

Just to keep everyone up to date (if interested !), the auto hold is supply fit only when ordering the car i.e. cannot be fitted afterwards. (According to a VW technician at my local dealers).

Shame really as now I've used it it would be a nice extra to have.

Is that for real ? It only costs £15 as an extra (to me it should be standard on every car!!).
I would think it odd that the £15 does not just cover the cost of the switch, and the wiring was actually underneath. Can't argue....as I don't know authoratively, but I would get a second technician's opinions from a different dealer.

    Same logic/reality applies.

I'd really like it too, as I had a Tiguan and was impressed as well.

I assumed it would be similar to the Cruise Control retro fit (i.e. a button and a VAGCOM tweak). Maybe it's worth asking one of the people who supply the Cruise retro fit.

Well i had a crack at fitting the Auto-hold today and it only bloody WORKS!

it's fantastic, but did take me a couple of hours to do (and i broke the piece of trim where the rear vents sit in the process...idiot!)

Overall, i'm a happy bunny, i'm looking to do the puddle lights in the doors next, which is also listed as a mod on the site i linked to.

Good idea. I use the Auto Hold in the wife's Audi and think it is brilliant.
