Right, I’ve got a Tornado red Mk2 golf. The red seems to fade and go a bit pink in some parts does anyone know of any good polish that would be useful to me. I use the T-cut color polish which comes out good but only last for about a week. Any what the difference between polish and wax?

T-cut aint worth the bottle its in to be honest... you can go a few ways round it....

Best option is Autosmart Mirror image, Its a high grade pollish and it contains a slight cutting compound... give it 3-4 pollishs and it should start to come back up...

Failing that you can use a proper cutting compound like G3 but be warned if you rub to hard u can cut thru the laquer paint and right down to bare metal! so id go for the mirror image first, if you get patchs that wont come through then goto compound.

As for the wax the best you can get is Carnuba wax (autosmart again) it gives you a FANTASTIC shine! and also stops the paint fading through time...

The mirror image and carnuba wax are worth there wait in gold but there not that easy to work with! they both go off in 30seconds on a hot day so do it one panel at a time, put the pollish on one panel, then the next panel, then remove first panel and apply to 3rd and carry on like that.

You can pick the autosmart stuff off ebay or u might find a local place, not really that common as its designed for car valeting buisness's!

dont go for anything else i.e Autosmart platinum etc as it doesnt cut the paint so doesnt give anywhere near the same results! and avoid meguirs as you pay over the odds for something that doesnt give near the same performance!

Hope this helps a little if you need anything else just drop me a message! (my friends a pro valeter

    Hi
If your thinking of using AutoSmart carnuba gold wax don't bother with the 400ml tubs get yourself a 2.5ltr tub for £30 from this place, if you split the cost with friend your laughing.

a tornado red golf wont be laqured hense it has bloomed (faded) most red colors do this that arnt laqured, try auto glym or keep goin with the tcut ad elbow greas then use a soft tripple wax,if the auto glym or t cut wont work chances are g3 wont, tcut works by takin small layers of paint off so dont over do it
