    Hi all,

Wonder if any of you Audi gods can help me please.

Having spent hours doing a search I think the "convenience control module" is at fault.

    Symptons:
Electric windows dont work on any switch

Interior light stays on in door position

    Electric mirrors not working

No illumination on the drivers control panel switches

When arming the locks theres no flash from the indicators

Can hear a very faint whirring clicky type noise from behind the dash

    All other window buttons illuminated

UPDATE: VAG-COM Gives following code 01331 - Door Control Module: Driver Side (J386)
    49-00 - No Communications

    Anyone had these symptons before?

Where is the control module located and what does it look like?

I have VAG-COM is there anything I can do to check it?

How much is a new control module and do you think I could fit it myself, I understand I may have to re-code the keys (I will have a read up on that later)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just back from up North and plugged it into vag-com.

One of the codes I got was as below, is this typical of the "CONVENIENCE MODULE" failure or could it just be the actual switch unit on drivers side?

01331 - Door Control Module: Driver Side (J386)
    49-00 - No Communications

Could be any number of items in the controil flow - but I'd go through following sequence in order:

    • Wiring loom - check carefully between A pillar and door as wire breakage can occur here - and could induce the sort of multiple issue you report
    • Door control module - removal of door trim and access is not too bad - but not sure how one can trouble shoot this without a substitute part. I believe the control to be built into the window motor assembly - somone correct me if I'm wrong as I'm only recalling what I though I had observed in some of the current flow diagrams. If this is indeed the case - it might be possible to swap driver / passenger door items - simply as a test rig to eliminate components in trouble shooting steps?
    • Convenience module - access not too bad though some trim to play with - but same as door module - how to test without substitute. You could visually inspect at least as some isolated cases of water damage have been observed through water penetration at bulkhead
There may be other suggestions on the best order to proceed - but I'd go this way given symtpoms, ease of elimination and ptobable causes.
