Just bolt a turbo up, I like that-funniest thing I have read today!

The compression ratio needs to be dropped from 10.0:1 to around 8.0:1 by using low compression pistons or bodge it by fitting a decompression shim and two gaskets.

Do the sensible thing and fit the 1.8T from a Golf 4/Bora/Leon/Octavia etc.

With the amount of changes, and the costs involved, it is generally much more economical to source an original turbo engine & management system to transplant. (1.8T etc), or buy a turbo car.

Personally the only time i would consider turbo'ing a normally aspirated engine would be if it has variable valve timing.

Otherwise, turbo & management, possible strengthened internals, compression (gasket/pistons), manifolds exhaust, ECU, suspension, brakes etc etc.
