    Hi,

I have just purchased a 54plate Golf TDI SE and having looked at the manual it says coming/leaving home lights. On the light switch I only have 2 options dipped and main beam. does anyone know if this option can be added and to what cost...

Also the steering wheel in my car is the old 4 thick spokes, I would like to have the 3 spoke on found on the 06 plate onwards Gt and Gti model.. would anyone have any idea on the costs...

    any help welcome...

    thanks

I have a feeling this is a big mod.
Your going to need the automatic headlight option which requires a sensor which is on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror and all the wiring as well. Then your going to change the headlight switch for the which works with the auto lights option.
I could be wrong but realistically you'd be better to just buy a car with it fitted.

To be honest, these big electrical mods are too costly. It is possible to upgrade the steering wheel from 4 to 3 spoke and even to multifunction (see the How To section), with regard to the coming home lights, this is in the convenience settings (if fitted at the factory) however it is possible to have them enabled if you computer is the right spec. any one with VW assistance or Vag Com should be able to do it. its the same as making your doors lock at +10 mph.

the best cheapest way is to fit an out sid light with a PIR so when you pull up it comes on automatically.

i think mine is the same as yours. I can't change the settings myself, but if i had vag com i could. You need to post up your locating and offer some beer tokens. That may help.
