Hi

I decided to post this new thread for a problem which just won't go away.

Car: Golf 2.0 Gt TDi on a 55 Plate. ( 140 PS model ).
Mileage: 39,500

Problems:

1. Brake Judder at low speeds

VW Response: Changed all 4 discs and pads. Rotated wheels.

Unfortunately, problem still exists.

2. Clunking noise when taking up drive

3. Vibration at idling

VW Response: Expected behavior

VW Response: Inspected car. Said the noise was an expected feature of the car.

4. Whilsting noise from drivers side front wheel.

VW Response: Changed wheel bearing

My assessment:

The problems all started after the wheel bearing was changed. I believe the low speed brake judder is related to the suspected dual mass flywheel. I went for a test drive with the mechanic and he said many other customers had reported the same issue(s) and VW was unable to offer a fix it was expected behavior. This is a company car, and it has spoiled the whole driving experience for me. It's been at the dealer at least 6 times to look at these problems. The car has 6 months warranty left and I feel like hassling the dealer to get this fixed.

My colleague has the exact same car and he too has had many, many issues related to the drivetrain. Come on VW, you need to fix these problems.

Comments welcome.
