Any Techies out there advise on brake pad warning activates iraticley. Vehicle T4 late 1999. I believe it to be connector on the loom N/S/F. Is there a quick fix or will the loom have to be repaired/replaced?

Hi If the fault is intermittent, then it can not be other than a bad connection, the most likely place is the connector on the shock absorber. The pins in these contacts corrode. You can remove the connector if not repairable and solder the wires, and insolate them. You can if you want code the dash panel insert, removing the brake pad warning function

When you say solder do you mean link the two together or or just cut out the plug & socket

Coding the dash I take it being a dealer function

Cut the wires and cut out the plug & socket and solder or (join the wires),which will be easier to replace the pads next time around.Just make sure they are well insolated. The dash panel can be recoded with Vag-com
